A 65-year-old Honolulu man was arrested Friday night for attempted murder after shooting at motorist following a traffic incident on the freeway near Aiea.

According to police, the 65-year-old suspect and a 23-year-old man were traveling on the freeway around 9:30 p.m. in Aiea when they got involved in an unknown traffic incident.

The suspect then continued to follow the other motorist, shooting at him in the process.

The motorist was not hit struck by the bullet and did not suffer any injuries.

The suspect fled the scene following the shooting but was later identified and arrested at his Kakaako home.

He faces attempted murder charges, but has not yet been charged with the crime.

He does not have a criminal record in Hawaii.
