Hawaii is back in the international spotlight with the latest box office and critical success of The Descendants. Tuesday, the Academy of Motion Pictures honored the film with five nominations, including nominations for best film, best actor, best director and est adapted screenplay. But before the film took off worldwide, things kicked off here in Hawaii with the Hawaii International Film Festival.
