The state Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that the nightly closure of the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction has been extended.

The closure will continue Tuesday night from 10:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Crews will close the H-1 Freeway westbound lanes from the Vineyard Boulevard off-ramp to the Palama Street off-ramp.

Work will begin with two left lane closures starting at 9 p.m.

The following H-1 Freeway ramps will also be closed:

• Punchbowl Street on-ramp
• Pali Highway off-ramp
• School Street off-ramp
• School Street on-ramp

Crews will be replacing an outdated electronic message board on the Liliha Street overpass.
