Honolulu police have released two suspects arrested Friday in separate fatal stabbing cases.
Enrico Golden, 33, of Liliha was arrested Friday night after he was allegedly involved in a fatal stabbing that also injured three other men at Mayor Wright housing complex.
Relatives of the man killed identified him as 32-year-old Benjamin Rekis of Mililani.
They say Rekis he was the father of three young children and was visiting family at the housing complex on Friday
Golden was released pending investigation and was not charged.
The second suspect arrested in a separate fatal stabbing in Waikiki was also released Sunday.
The 42-year-old Wahiawa man was accused of stabbing and killing 20-year-old Brycen Iona, of Kaneohe, on Sunday Jan. 22 at near Queen's Surf Beach in Waikiki.
The suspect was arrested Friday night. Jan. 27, in connection with the stabbing.
According to a police highlight, the suspect approached Iona and a friend after he saw them stealing his bag. A fight ensued, during which Iona and his friend assaulted the suspect, who later pulled out a knife and stabbed both victims.
The other man, an 18-year-old, was initially listed in serious condition.
This suspect is the second suspect arrested and released in this case. A 39-year-old man, believed to be homeless, was arrested shortly after police responded to the stabbing call. He was also not charged.
