Whereever the lines are drawn, some neighborhoods could be cut in half or lumped together with other towns. But many hope the commission will redraw the current plans to keep communities close to districts that are already here.
"Having West Haleiwa, Waialua town stretching all the way into Makakilo strikes me as being really bizarre," said Kailua resident Shannon Wood.
The commission not only wants to hear more comments on the plans; members also want to see how residents would best draw up the districts. They may take a vote on the plans at the next meeting which will be held on February 27. If not, a final vote will be taken on February 29.
