Honolulu City and County Managing Director says the closure of H1 or Nimitz Highway will likely come after 8:00 a.m.
Police plan to restrict access to "major roads" sometime this morning as Chinese President Hu Jintao heads to the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam to leave following this weekend's APEC Summit.
In an interview with KITV4 News This Morning's Jill Kuramoto, Chin said the city is getting "back to normal." Road restrictions in Waikiki have ended, but the bulky trash pickup schedule was changed due to APEC events. Waikiki residents are being asked to put their bulky items out tonight, for pickup Tuesday morning.
Another closure is possible Tuesday morning as President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama leave Honolulu, headed for stops in Australia, and Indonesia.
