The Marine Corp and Oahu car clubs came together Sunday, for the sake of underprivileged children in Hawaii this holiday season.
More than 500 cars were featured in this year?s Toys for Tots Show and Shine. There were hot rods, muscle cars, high-end show cars and more.
Car clubs say they came out for one reason.
"Toys for Tots. Every year. It's a must. It's a very good cause,? said Tom Kresge of Rust Bucket Hawaii.
Kresge brought along his 1934 Ford, four window coup.
Car clubs and spectators donated loads of toys and money for this year's Toys for Tots campaign, which benefits less fortunate children in Hawaii.
?Right now, because of the turn in the economy, the actual requests have gone up to approximately 40 thousand toys,? said Chief Petty Officer Lorenzo Branch, Toys for Tots coordinator.
That?s 5,000 more toys than last year, when the campaign exceeded its goal of 35,000 toys overall.
The car clubs said that would be no problem.
"For the children, make them joyful at Christmas time," said Yuki Miyagawa of Rust Bucket Hawaii.
