Hawai is officially on its way to gain its second saint.
Monday, Pope Benedict XVI approved Blessed Mother Marianne Cope for sainthood.
She'll be canonized sometime next year making her the sixth female American saint in history.
Blessed Marianne has been praised for her tireless work across the islands, at Kalihi Hospital and at Kalaupapa on Molokai, where she cared for patients with Hansen's Disease.
