Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda of Japan and President Lee Myung-bak of the Republic of Korea laid wreaths at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl Saturday morning.
The cemetery was closed until the ceremony ended at around 10:30 a.m. The cemetery should have opened up shortly after that.
The leaders, here for the APEC summit, paid their respects to American veterans and those died in war.
Prime Minister Noda also went to the Ehime Maru Memorial at the Kakaako Waterfront Park and laid another wreath there.
KITV4 News will have more on these events after the Oregon-Stanford college football game and at 10:00 p.m.
