Two starting University of Hawaii Warrior football players have been suspended from team practice after being arrested following a fight at a Waikiki nightclub early Sunday morning.
Starting linebacker Aaron Brown and wide-receiver Darius Bright were arrested on charges of misdemeanor assault and were later released after posting bail.
The two players cannot participate in any practice and could miss the first game of the season this Saturday if a University investigation is not concluded by then.
?I will evaluate the situation when I get all of the information and then will take appropriate action,? head coach Greg McMackin said.
Both were released from jail after posting $2,000 bail each. The athletes could face up to a year in jail and a $2,000 fine for the third-degree assault charges.
The players are scheduled to appear in District Court Sept. 26.
